e have chosen to make ComfySandals.com a website where your gift keeps on giving. Buying a stylish and healthy pair of slippers/sandals for yourselves, your family, your friends, not only gives your loved ones a special gift, but gives a donation of 20% to a cause close to your heart.

We are a small company that wants to help this Holiday season, and you can make that giving happen. Tell your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers, “Buy those special winter slippers that are good for your feet, give the gift of health to your gift list, and let 20% of your purchase price go to others who need help this Holiday season.” Pay it forward, and make this the season of giving!

Here are the causes you can choose to give your 20%, just write your choice in the comments section of the on-line order form, or tell customer service. Check back and watch the donations grow. Remember, you were going to spend this money on gifts anyway, so make it a healthy gift for the feet and body, and a gift to those in need!

1) Feeding America:  http://www.feedingamerica.org

Each year, the Feeding America network provides food to more than 25 million low-income people facing hunger in the United States, including more than 9 million children and nearly 3 million seniors.

For every $1 you donate, Feeding America helps provide 9 pounds of food and grocery products to men, women and children facing hunger in our country

Your $7.39 will provide 66.5 pounds of food on just one purchase of Comfys!

2)
350.org:  http://www.350.org

350.org is an international campaign dedicated to building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis--the solutions that science and justice demand.

Our mission is to inspire the world to rise to the challenge of the climate crisis—to create a new sense of urgency and of possibility for our planet.

Our focus is on the number 350--as in parts per million, the level scientists have identified as the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere. But 350 is more than a number--it's a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.

If an international grassroots movement holds our leaders accountable to the latest climate science, we can start the global transformation we so desperately need.

This group is a grass roots, action oriented group that inspires people to join together to create change.  From dissemination of important information about our climate crisis to being the people’s voice at International decision making meetings, to gathering people together to clean the beaches, the group asks for actions large and small that will increasingly make a difference.  The group inspired us to gather our grandchildren on Oct. 24th to help clean up the local beaches.

The more money 350 has to work with, the more they can generate involvement.  Your purchase of Comfys for friends and family will help 350 take more action, if you choose to put your 20% to work on this cause.

3)
ASPCA:  http://www.aspca.org

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. As the first humane organization to be granted legal authority to investigate and make arrests for crimes against animals, they are wholly dedicated to fulfilling the ASPCA mission through nonviolent approaches. The organization provides local and national leadership in three key areas: caring for pet parents and pets, providing positive outcomes for at-risk animals and serving victims of animal cruelty.

With the purchase of 3 pairs of Comfys, your donation of $22.17 will feed a dog or cat for 3 weeks!

4)
The Month’s Health Focus:  November is Alzheimer’s Month

http://www.alz.org/oc/in_my_community_10849.asp

The Orange County Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association has         begun a program “Memories in the Making.”  Here is what they say:

Alzheimer's dementia brings with it a constant reminder of failures and losses. The Memories in the Making® Art program is not about failure. Every picture is important and valid. Its value lies in the creative process of making the art and expressing feelings and emotions trapped inside. The ensuing sense of accomplishment brings renewed joy and self-respect to the patient.

We have had this experience in our own family.  Ketty Frederiksen picked up a paintbrush for the first time in 79 years and under the limits of moderate Alzheimer’s, produced several paintings.

With each purchase of a pair of Comfy’s, your 20% will go to training art therapists and providing supplies for this wonderful program.  Many of us have been touched by this disease, and this program does make memories for us all, and gives the patient a sense of delight and achievement.

PS: If you are in the Sunset Beach area November 8th, 2-5, please come to the gallery “U Can Too” to meet Ketty and share in her art, enjoy the gallery and have some snacks.  Call our customer service for details (714-894-2300)!

5) Green Lifestyle Film Festival (GLFF): http://www.greenlifestylefilmfestival.com/

The Green Lifestyle Film Festival was created in 2007 to address a concern by the film festival’s founder( Dorit), that medical costs, lack of proper medical care, allegiance to a failing disease management system, an increasingly industrialized food system  and non-distribution of very critical information have become a hindrance to achieving what is our most basic birthright- radiant, robust, vital health.
This festival is a celebration of film makers who dedicate their talents, income and energy to examining what sustainability really means!
The next  Green Lifestyle Film Festival ( GLFF), which is an international, non profit event , will be held at UCLA’s James Bridges Theatre from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st March 2010.

6) The Community Donation!  The Sunset Beach Community Association is raising money to investigate whether they should incorporate as a city or allow annexation by Huntington Beach. With every resident, family and friend purchasing a pair of Comfys, Sunset Beach can raise enough money to do their investigation, and give a stylish and foot healthy present to their loved ones.  Remember to put SBCA in the comment box, and 20% of your purchase price will go to this cause.
